TERMI-MESH Singapore Pte Ltd

When architect Cheng Wai Meng had a serious termite infestation in his home, he was very concerned with the probability and necessity of having to use dangerous toxic chemicals to try and remove the termites from his beloved son’s room.  After conducting much research he concluded  that there was a good possibility that this problem could occur again and that the same poisonous solution would have to be used: the reapplication of the same chemicals to his home, placing his family in danger.

He kept on researching and found that there was a particular product that had been invented in Australia and was gaining wide support as it was a physical termite barrier, which meant it did not contain dangerous chemicals and, if this had been used in his home, his family would not be placed in this unavoidably dangerous situation.  The product he found was the Termimesh System.

Being an architect, he was very interested in Termimesh as he could offer to the industry a cleaner and greener alternative to the poisonous chemicals that were commonly used at the time.

That was in 1997.

He sought comments from the then Ministry of the Environment, Environmental Health Department, on the possibility of it being used as an alternative to chemical application. He provided all the available testing data and the evidence of the installations already carried out in Australia and the United States. The then Ministry of the Environment provided their no objection on 22 August 1996.

In 1998, Cheng Wai Meng obtained the Exclusive Licence of the Termimesh System in Singapore.  Later that year, he then registered the name Termi-mesh Singapore Pte Ltd.

Together with his wife, Lunar, Termi-mesh Singapore has now completed many installations of all types varying from bungalows to the new Changi International Airport Terminal 3 placing itself in the market as the only choice for chemical free, stainless steel, sustainable, zero impact on the environment termite control system.

In September 2006, Mr. Teo Kok Woon of the Cockpit Hotel Group of Companies, became the new major share-holder of the company.

Termi-mesh Singapore Pte Ltd aims to provide the Termimesh System as the only acceptable, sustainable, environmental standard for termite control in Asia.
