Installation Questions

Q:
Why is Termimesh a preferred choice?
A:

The Termimesh System has outstanding and unique benefits
  • It is poison free and non toxic
  • It provides a long-life physical barrier.
  • It is a once off investment with no requirement to retreat the barrier.
  • It is very cost effective.

    Q:
    What is Termimesh?
    A:

The Termimesh System is a highly effective termite barrier. The key to the Termimesh System is a high quality stainless steel mesh that termites cannot penetrate. The apertures of the mesh are too small for termites to squeeze through. The mesh is
too hard for termites to chew through. The mesh is made from ultra marine grade stainless steel which has a proven record
    of durability.

    Q:
    What is the Warranty Period?
    A:

The Termimesh System comes with a standard 10 years System Warranty, subject to Annual Inspections. The Termimesh
Material Warranty is 30 years. Termimesh has a proven track record of about ten years in the market place.

    Q:
    Is Termimesh proven?
    A:

Independent testing by leading research authorities such as CSIRO has conclusively proven the effectiveness of Termimesh
as a termite barrier. The Termimesh System is included in Australian Standards and meets the requirements of the Australian Building Code. Termimesh has been successfully installed in over 200,000 Australian homes and in many schools, hospitals
and community centres both in Australia and overseas. The Termimesh System was selected to protect the Sydney Olympic Village and in Singapore, the entire new Singapore Changi International Airport Terminal 3 Complex

    Q:
How do I have Termimesh included in my projects?
    A:

Standard or customized Termimesh System Specifications are available for your tender documentations. Standard or
customized CADD drawings and details of the Termimesh System are also available.

    Q:
Will the implementation of the Termimesh System affect the construction programme?
    A:

Being a totally physical barrier system, Termimesh is not subjected to any regulated approval and reporting process by the Singapore’s National Environment Agency. Termimesh installation is also not time or weather restrictive.

    Q:
Is Termimesh suitable for projects at high water table and water catchment and Protected water
    catchment sites?

    A:

Singapore’s National Environment Agency has stipulated under their current “Measure to Prevent and Control Water Pollution
from the use of Termiticides” that Tests shall be carried out at site to determine ground water table. Soil treatment shall not be carried out if the ground water table is less than 0.5m below soil level.

The Termimesh physical barrier is recommended for all high water table, water catchment and protected water catchment sites
as it is zero impact on the environment.

    Q:
If I adopt the Termimesh System, do I still need any chemical applications?
    A:

The Termimesh System is the complete and total protection and you will not require any “other” chemical application

    Q:
Why is a long term Termimesh physical barrier a preferred choice over a conventional
    chemical treatment?

    A:

Termites and their colonies will continue to be a part of the environment around your building for the long term and they
will persistently try to enter into your building looking for food, as such, with a long-lasting stainless steel physical barrier,
you will always have the protection the building needs, which a shorter life chemical barrier will not be able to provide.

    Termite Questions

    Q:
Must buildings be protected from termites?
    A:

New buildings should be protected against termites. You should be careful, however, about what you choose for your termite protection.

    Q:
    Why is termite control important?
    A:

Underground termites are active throughout Singapore and in Asia. You cannot see them. In fact, you rarely hear about them, but termites cause more damage each year than do floods, fires and storms combined.

    Q:
    How do termites behave?
    A:

The termites that cause most damage to buildings, live underground. Their food is cellulose in its many forms. In natural conditions that means trees. Termites search underground for food - old wood or old trees or get into the roots of new or dead standing trees and into their core. It is during that search that termites find your buildings. The danger is always from underground. If termites are present and searching for food, any tiny hole will allow them in. Termites can get into the house through a hole as small as 1.4mm.
